Here is the lineup for the tasting. These wines are killer!!! I hope everyone can make it.

“Winemaker of the Year Tasting”
We will be trying:

Cruse Wine Co. Tradition Sparkling NV, California

This blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir comes from three different vineyards: Rorick in Sierra Foothills, Rita’s Crown in coastal Santa Barbara, and Alder Springs in cool Mendocino. After spending two years on the lees, the wine was bottled without any dosage for fresh, bright, attractive aromas of toast, almonds, butter, beeswax, honeysuckle, apples, and lemon. Beautiful.

Matthiasson Tendu Vermentino, California

The Tendu line-up is a separate project created by the Matthiasson Family with a focus on fun varietals that deliver exeptional value. This Vermentino is a light and refreshing style that has far more complexity than one would expect from a 10.5% abv. Aromas of Kaffir lime, crisp snow peas, honeydew melon, and a chalkyness that hints at the creamy texture on the mid-palate, leading in to a crisp and mouthwatering finish . A great day drinking wine.

Le P'tit Paysan Chardonnay, California

Blended from a collection of five small vineyards at the base of “Jack’s Hill”, in Chular, CA. The cool climate and distinct iron oxide granite soil provide the foundation for this clean, crisp Chablis inspired Chardonnay. The balance of acidity and minerality shine brightly with each sip. Aromatics of Meyer lemon, green apples, and river rocks are followed up with white grapefruit, Asian pear and sea salt dancing on the palette. A pure fresh finish mineral driven finish completes this delicious blend.

I. Brand & Family Bayly Ranch Cabernet Franc, California

Bayly Ranch Vineyard is a secret gem of the trinity of Bordeaux varietal sites nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our Cabernet Franc fruit is from a small block planted atop rich red Franciscan volcanic influenced rocks in 1978. A classic example of Cabernet Franc. This full-bodied wine is bursting with lush, dark red berries and subtle lavender and hints dried herbs on the nose. Playing with balance, acidity pops off structured tannins finishing with that traditional peppery edge.

Matthiasson Cabernet Sauvignon, California

The nose shows abundant red fruits, lots of bright cherry along with bramble-berries, such as blackberry, cranberry, mulberry, and framed with hints of mineral/herbal characters such as graphite, cedar, and pencil shavings. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with light tannin and beautiful acidity. Decanting is highly recommended.
The blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol is 13.0%, TA is 5.9 g/l, pH is 3.78. 1995 cases produced.

New Rosé Offering!

2020 La Plage Rose du Var France

The dog days of summer are here!! Good news for us, but I have the perfect pick me up … My favorite rosé is back!! The release of the 2020 La Plage Rose du Var France came in this week and I purchased enough to offer a great deal for club members to stock up.

For the next few months we will be pouring this rosé by the glass at the Pine Bar for $8 a glass if you would like to try before you buy.

The Var is conveniently nestled between the Mediterranean sea and the Alps, absorbing the best of both climates. The sustainably-grown southern varietals(Cab, Merlot, Grenache, Carignan) thrive in such ideal conditions, delivering just enough fruit to balance the salty minerality.

With a name that translates to “the shore,” the palate on this rosé promises to transport you to the seaside. Think fresh watermelon, chilled, salted, and splashed with a few droplets of rose water. Striped umbrella and bathing suits sold separately. 😉

Food Ideas: grilled pineapple and shrimp skewers, crab fritters w/remoulade, summer greens w/strawberry-balsamic dressing, fried vegetable spring rolls.

$15.99 Regular Retail – Wine Club Members $12.99 ($155.88 a case + tax)

If you are interested in stocking up the home fridge email us.

Current Featured Wines

Domaine du Salvard Cheverny Rosé 2020, Loire Valley France

I am a huge fan of this producer( five hardworking generations of the Delaille family) that is imported by Kermit Lynch. I occasionally get in the Cheverny Blanc(Sauvingon Blanc/Chardonnay) that I have poured at a tasting or two but am excited about the release of Salvard’s 2020 rose.  The only sad part is I was only able to get 12 bottles and now it is gone.  If you would like a bottle or two please let me know and I will save them for you.

65% Pinot Noir – 35% Gamay:  No need to ponder too long: the beauty of this pale rosé is its subtlety, soft fruit, racy minerals, and refreshing acidity. Perfect for back porch sitting!!
$20.99 a bottle regularly – Wine Club $18.25 a bottle

Au Bon Climat Pinot Gris/Pinot Blanc 2019, Santa Maria Valley California

A winery know for their award winning Chardonnay’s and Pinot Noir’s, I was pleasantly surprised to taste this summer sipper!!  Made from 75% Pinot Gris & 25% Pinot Blanc, this lemon/lime citrus bomb will be perfect for those backyard grilling parties.  A little heavier than you would think but still perfect for low-country boils, grilled chicken or even duck.
More sad news with this wine … I only got 12 bottles.
$19.99 a bottle regularly – Wine Club $17.38 a bottle
